I am a learner, a teacher and a mom, and I love life’s simple blessings. To me there is nothing better than seeing the world through the eyes of children. There is no question that my three beautiful children have been my best (and sometimes hardest) teachers. Although my favourite role is mom, it is followed very closely by my role as teacher.
I have been the Director of Teaching and Learning at a local private school for the past two years. This year I add to my role, temporarily, the role of Head of Student Support. I am so excited about the opportunity to help inspire students and teachers with new ways of learning, ensuring that the needs of ALL learners are met in our classrooms. This past year I also took on the giant task of writing a curriculum resource for Nelson Publishing. I wrote both the Kindergarten and the Grade 5 Social Studies Resource. It was an incredible learning experience, working with some exceptional educators. In the past, I have been a district literacy team member and a literacy support teacher. I began my career in the classroom and have more than a decade of elementary classroom experience. I thrive on creating a learning environment where the students are encouraged and enriched, and where they are able to discover their strengths. I love inspiring children to change their perspectives of themselves as a learner.
I am new to websites and blogging and am teaching myself how to build this site (so please be forgiving of any technical difficulties).
In my spare time (which isn’t much) I love to read, run, cook and explore new places!
